Terms of Service

Last updated October 5, 2026

The short version

01Who we are and what these terms cover

Scout is a personal AI job-search service run by Aun Collective. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Aun Collective, and “you” means the person using Scout.

These terms apply when you sign up for or use Scout, including the app at scout.auncollective.com and the emails it sends. By signing up or using Scout, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.

02Who can use Scout

You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States to use Scout. Each account is for one person and their own job search.

03What Scout does

Scout uses your resume and the preferences you give it to:

Scout never applies for a job or contacts anyone on your behalf. You decide which roles to pursue, what to submit, and whom to write to.

Searches cover only the sources Scout can reach. No search finds every open role. Each plan includes limits, such as how many roles each search judges and how many times a week you can use each tool. Current limits are shown in Scout and on the Scout page. A search or tool may stop early if it reaches a spending limit we set to keep costs predictable.

04Your account

You sign in with a link we email to you. Keep access to that email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in to your Scout. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

Do not share your account or let anyone else use it. Tell us right away at jimmy@auncollective.com if you think someone else has signed in.

05Price, free trial and billing

Scout has one plan, called Scout. It costs $50 in US dollars per month. Stripe, our payment processor, handles checkout and billing. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

Free trial. Your trial covers the three weekdays after the day you sign up, counted in Central Time (America/Chicago). Public holidays count as weekdays. The trial ends at midnight Central Time at the end of the third weekday. Stripe collects your card at checkout. Your card is first charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. The trial is for first-time subscribers; if you subscribe again later, billing starts right away.

Renewal. After the trial, your subscription renews automatically each month, and Stripe charges your card at the start of each billing period until you cancel.

06Cancelling, and refunds

You can cancel at any time from Billing in Scout, which opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, or at the end of your trial if you are still in it. Scout keeps working until then, and you are not charged again.

We do not give refunds or credits for partial months or unused time. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us and we will look into it.

Cancelling does not delete your information. To have your account and data deleted, see section 16 and our Privacy Policy.

07Failed payments

If a payment fails, Scout pauses: searches stop, and the paid tools are turned off. Your saved roles, documents and applications stay readable. Update your card from Billing in Scout to resume. If payment is not made, Stripe may end the subscription.

08Price changes

We may change the price of Scout. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

09AI output: check it before you rely on it

Scout's assessments, fit scores, summaries, suggested contacts, resume edits, cover letters and call preparation are generated by AI models. They are based on public job postings, other public web pages, data from a third-party professional-data provider, and the information you give Scout.

Scout does not give legal, financial, tax or career-counselling advice. We do not guarantee interviews, offers or employment.

10Acceptable use

When you use Scout, you agree not to:

11Your content

You own the resume and other information you give Scout. You give us permission to store, copy and process it, and to send it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to run, support and improve Scout for you. You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload.

The resume edits, cover letters and other materials Scout drafts for you are yours to use in your job search.

12Our service

Scout's software, design and content belong to Aun Collective. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Scout for your own job search while your account is active. Do not copy, modify or reverse-engineer Scout, except where the law allows it.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

13Other websites and services

Scout links to job postings, employer sites, professional profiles and other websites that we do not control. Those sites have their own terms. We are not responsible for their content, availability or hiring decisions.

14Changes to Scout

We change and improve Scout over time. We may add, change or remove features, sources, AI models and limits. If a change significantly reduces what your plan includes, we will tell you by email, and you can cancel.

15Suspending or ending your account

We may pause or end your access if you break these terms, do not pay, or use Scout in a way that could harm other people, our service providers or us. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also stop offering Scout. If we do, we will give you notice by email and will not charge you for time after Scout stops.

16Deleting your account

To delete your account, email jimmy@auncollective.com from the address you use for Scout. Deleting your account removes your workspace and ends any active subscription immediately. We do not refund the rest of the current period. Our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what Stripe and other providers may keep.

17Disclaimer of warranties

Scout is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that Scout will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that it will find any particular role, or that its output will be accurate or complete.

18Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Aun Collective will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost earnings, lost opportunities or lost data, arising from or related to Scout or these terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to Scout or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for Scout in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Some states do not allow certain warranties to be disclaimed or certain damages to be limited. In those states, these limits apply only as far as the law permits.

19Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute comes up, please email us first; most problems can be solved quickly. Any lawsuit about Scout or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.

20Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Scout after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel.

21General

These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Scout. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of our business. We may send you notices by email to the address on your account.
